What a beautiful evening spent with our Friends as Foothills Land Conservancy celebrated 40 years of service as a regional land trust!

A big thank you to everyone that joined us for FLC's 2025 Summer Celebration, including our Host Committee, Corporate Sponsors, and Event Partners!

This year's event got underway with great friends, a stellar menu, and decent weather. You can see all the memorable moments by viewing this year's Celebration photos, courtesy of Doug Mills.

As part of FLC's 40th Anniversary event program, Foothills staff provided a brief history of the Conservancy's beginnings, milestones, landowner partnerships and the leadership that helped make our organization what it is today.

Special recognition was given to FLC's Friends of the Foothills, Robert and Betsy, for their assistance with upcoming enhancements to Jarvis Park. Another special recognition went to Celebration attendee, Billy Minser. Billy is a dear friend and long-term FLC Board Member, dedicated conservationist, and retired career teacher/researcher in the Department of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries, at the University of Tennessee. FLC is honoring Billy by working to bring the "Billy Minser Park” to fruition in 2025, located off U.S. 321 in Blount County, Tennessee.

Lastly, Celebration attendee Lt. Governor Randy McNally, presented (and surprised) FLC's Executive Director, Bill Clabough, with two Tennessee General Assembly Joint Resolutions signed by Governor Bill Lee, and prepared by the Lt. Governor and Speaker of the Senate, Randy McNally, along with Senators Tom Hatcher, Richard Briggs, and Becky Massey and Representatives Jerome Moon, Jay Reedy and Celebration attendee Rep. Tom Stinnett. The resolutions were:

  • #225 – A resolution to recognize and honor William ‘Bill’ Clabough, Sr. for his contributions to the Foothills Land Conservancy.
  • #226 – A resolution to honor and commend Foothills Land Conservancy on the occasion of its fortieth anniversary.
  • Thanks again for all of your time and support of the Conservancy's regional land conservation programs! We look forward to seeing all of you at upcoming events and next year's Celebration.

    - The FLC Team
