🔎 BioBlitz at FLC’s Harris Farm
Saturday, April 18 | 8:00 AM-12:00 PM
Join Foothills Land Conservancy for a community science BioBlitz as we work together to document the biodiversity of our 279‑acre Harris Farm! Using iNaturalist, a crowd‑sourced species identification platform, we will track plants, animals, insects, and fungi that live on—or move through—our conserved land. Every observation strengthens statewide biodiversity data and supports long‑term conservation efforts.
Volunteers will explore the farm and record observations of plants, animals, insects, and fungi using the iNaturalist app. You’re welcome to participate independently or as part of a team, and you may join at any point during the event. This event is open to nature enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels—no scientific background required (Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult). Naturalists and FLC staff will be on hand to assist with species identification and guide participants through using the app.
We will meet at 8:00 AM in the Harris Farm driveway for a brief orientation before heading out onto the property. Please bring appropriate outdoor clothing (long pants and closed‑toe shoes are strongly recommended) and a phone with the iNaturalist app downloaded before arrival.
Come explore, discover, and help us better understand the incredible biodiversity thriving at Harris Farm!
